Advise for students:
- Try to ask the individual, "why are you doing this?", then try to break the circle of bullying. You might get an understanding why they are bullies and maybe find out that he/she is having a hard time and take out their problems on others.
- Try to ignore them - If there's a rumor about you that you know it's not true, stay calm and ignore it. Bullies have a habit of annoying you in order for you to react. By ignoring them, you are demonstrating that you are in control and not them.
- Tell the principle or counselors - If you can't handle the situation, report to the school counselor about the issue so they can support you. This will help the schools to focus where help is needed and create a solution to bullying.
- Stand up to bullying - if you don't speak up or seek for help, bullying will become more aggressive.
- Talk to your parents - Your parents can help and give you advise about bullying. They can also contact the school to report the situation.
- Reach out to friends - Your friends can help report to the school's authority and be a bystander.
- Make educational program - students will be able to learn how to cope with bullying and ways to prevent if they are in a situations. (Life Skills)
- Physical education in resolving conflicts - a defense class can help with bullying. If you get physically assaulted, you can defend yourself without involving yourself in the problem.
- Provide a hotline - students might not know who are the counselors or might not even know who to contact. The hotline is a contact number to use and let the school's authority know the issue.
- Help teens feel safe in schools-if schools make clear consequences about the type of behavior that is unacceptable, it makes ground rules.
